Isaiah 45:5 I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
Context: For the sake of my servant Jacob, and Israel my chosen, I call you by your name, I name you, though you do not know me. 6that people may know, from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is none besides me; I am the LORD, and there is no other.
From the lexicon:Lord=Jehovah, self-existing one. God=divine being. Girded=encompassed. Known=acknowledged.
In other words: I, (only) am Jehovah, the self-existing one. There are no other divine beings alongside me. I encompassed you (providing fore you) even though you have not acknowledged me.
Pulling it together: In Isaiah 45:5 God makes it clear. He is God and there is none other. He called the nation of Israel and has made them a special people so that all people will know that He is God. God does not attempt to prove He is God, He merely states it. He made all that there is. All existence depends on Him. He called out a nation to serve Him and still calls out a people today.
But men still refuse to acknowledge Him and His call. Romans 1:21 and 22 express this clearly: For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22Claiming to be wise, they became fools. And so, we see the condition of modern man. He denies the existence of the One Who created him and sets about to live according to his own devices.
However, we must not be too quick to judge lest the same attitude enter the Church. We too have been called by God to be a special people as a witness in our present age. Yet we get distracted by the things around us and serve things that are not God. The Church must get back to its main purpose: to honor and to serve our great God and Redeemer.
Lord I pray: for grace to love you with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength for I know revival begins in Your Church and in me.
